The environmental process is most often neglected, as it gets ignored or minimized. It is estimated that about 80% of industrial pollution results from the processes that lead up to it. I am not saying that the environment is bad or harmful, but that it is often over-looked. In many cases, it may actually be a good thing, as it will lead to better ways to make things.
You can’t really design a system that makes it better, but you can at least design an environment that causes the system to work differently. We are not talking about the environment as a whole, but rather the way the environment affects the system. The environment is constantly changing, and it does so in a way that is very subtle and difficult to see.
The environment is just that, a very subtle, complex, and constantly changing thing that is constantly creating changes in the system. A good example is the water and air pressure system in a house. If the house has an open floor plan, it is likely that a lot of the pressure is going through the floor, rather than the walls and ceiling. Consider the house that we just lived in. I didn’t have any control over the windows, the doors, the heating or cooling systems, the plumbing, the electrical systems, or the appliances.
This is one of the reasons why you should always check before you set or change something, especially if you are a DIYer. To determine its level of control, check out the water’s flow through the pipes in your house. Is it safe to open the windows, remove the blinds, or replace a light bulb? The water level in a toilet tank is one of the best ways to determine its level of control, because it is a pretty big deal that the water will run down the toilet if it is not filled up.
This is especially true if you don’t want to risk the toilet overflowing if you have to do it at a certain level.
The next time you are doing a plumbing job, look at the level of control of the water that is going into the toilet, then see what the water does. The toilet has a level of control because it keeps water out of the toilet tank. If the toilet is full, the water will flow into the toilet tank. If it is almost empty, the water will run down the toilet tank. If it is very full, the water will run down the toilet tank.
The same thing applies to other surfaces too. The way it all flows through the world can affect our lives. Just like a person doesn’t feel comfortable in a room full of broken glass, the level of control that we have over a given thing can change our lives dramatically. This is why you are not just thinking about it, but doing it.
