This week’s blog is about what it’s like to have a hostile work environment, but it’s also about how to deal with it. I know that just one person can impact your job and your career. I’m not going to tell you exactly what it is, but the reasons are many and varied, ranging from a lack of opportunities to a lack of trust. No matter what it is, you have to get past it.
If you’re in an insecure job and you can’t seem to make any progress, it is time to start looking for a new opportunity. I think the best way to deal with it is to take a walk through the options and find one that is the right fit for you. Whether that means taking a job that isn’t as physically demanding as you’re used to or looking for a job where you really are a valued member of the team, you need to make a decision.
So what sort of benefits are there to working for a company that provides no benefits? First, there is a benefit to you; you are able to quit your current employer without a loss of income. Second, you are able to quit before your employer forces you to take a leave of absence, and you can use the time you spend getting hired to try and improve your current situation.
So the company is providing you with severance pay, paid time off, medical insurance, and a chance to take time out of your life to improve your situation. They are also providing you with a company car at no cost, and a chance to get your own car in the future. They are also providing you with a company-provided computer that comes with a $300 credit to use towards your future expenses.
Most of you are probably not on the same page regarding this. I understand the reason for this being that the company that you work for might not be the one providing the benefits and perks. When you’re on the clock, I’ll assume you’re not there to work, and that it’s not a requirement of your job that you want to be there.
When I went to work for a company that was providing me with a company-provided computer that came with a 300 credit to use towards my future expenses, I was in it to make a profit. I didn’t want the company to have to pay me if I didn’t spend my own money (and the company’s money to pay for the computer).
So it goes, this goes on. If youre a new employee, you get free computer, free food, free housing, free phone, free internet, and free car. If youre a company employee, you get the same benefits, but you have to take care of your own employees, and there’s a chance youll have to fire your employees.
It is no different when you work for a company that hires out all of its employees, especially those that have to make a living. The company will look at your performance on the job, and if you can’t perform there, you are unlikely to get hired at all. I guess we should all be thankful that the employees of companies like mine have to take care of their employees.
But as I said, you cant fire your own employees. If you do, you have to wait to see if they get fired after you fire them. And because your employees are doing the job you hired them to do, they have to take care of them as well. If they dont, they will be fired. Its easy to make a lot of money and be a success if you are the one that hires the employees you need to keep.
Companies like mine often hire people just for the paycheck, and in many ways, that is a good thing. But we can also make the right decisions to keep good employees and we should definitely do that. To the best of our ability, we should be as fair as possible with our employees and if necessary, let them go. That is how we are going to keep a good team.
