a very important part of our daily life. Most of the time we think we know what is going on in our environment. When we get in the habit of paying attention to our environment we become aware of it.
The first step to awareness is to notice your surroundings and be aware of it. The second step is to take action if you are aware of it. Once you do both, the third step is to consciously choose to take action.
To be aware of yourself is to be aware of your surroundings, and the same is true of other people. In order to be aware of your surroundings and be aware of others you have to be aware of yourself. Awareness is a skill you can acquire through practice. When I teach workshops on this topic I often say that the best way to become an awareness expert is to start practicing.
I have a friend who is a professional athlete. He has a great deal of awareness, but he doesn’t use it to the extent I have, because he doesn’t really need it. The reason is that he doesn’t need to be aware for success. Success comes naturally to him. He just goes out and runs, and that’s all he does. His awareness is there for all of his senses, but he doesn’t use it to the degree that I use it.
I am a professional athlete with a great deal of awareness. I know that I have a great deal of awareness, but I also know that I dont use it. That’s because I am not a goal-oriented athlete. I am a goal-oriented human being. I will succeed at anything I put my mind to regardless of how much I use my awareness.
In other words, if you play the same game as Colt Vahn, you are going to be good at it. The key to being good at something is to try it often. The key to being good at anything is to try it hard. If you are good at something, you will always be good at it. If you are trying something hard and you dont succeed, at least you tried.
This is why I think it’s important to be aware of your surroundings when you are out and about. Even if it means not being aware of your surroundings when you are home. So if you are going to be out and about, take a moment to be aware of what you are doing. Even if it is just walking around your house. And I mean it literally.
The idea of being conscious, aware, and aware is the very definition of “awareness”. This is important to understand, as being aware is a huge part of being human. While our body and mind are designed for certain types of activities, there is a huge element of our being that is separate from them, and that is our consciousness. Our consciousness is what keeps us alive. It is the part of us that makes us human.
Think about your life. What makes you human? Is it your physical body? Is it your mind? Is it your conscious awareness? The answer is, all of these things. And the best part is, they are all connected.
The best part is, that one of the biggest challenges for people is just connecting the dots, seeing how they all make sense. I’ve always been taught that you have to see the big picture. So in my own life, I’ve spent over fifty years living in a world where I didn’t think of anything as being bigger than it already was. That’s not an easy thing to do.
